Latte
Moreover, a latte is a mixture of coffee and milk. A latte begins with as oddly as it sounds—an espresso. A latte has a base of about 1-2 shots of espresso and then an added thin layer of milk at the surface.
Furthermore, the foam is probably the most evident part of a latte. Many baristas make this foam art as an added signature when they produce lattes.
The Verdict
Therefore, lattes and espressos are similar because they contain the same espresso base. However, the main difference is the addition of milk. Yes, they are different just because milk is added to the espresso. This, of course, makes it two different drinks.
